I have a delightfully busy two days ahead of me this weekend!
Today I have two classes and I will be teaching my ladies the dancing daubers and thumping techniques. Our 3D project is a self-closing box. I can't believe these are the second to last classes before Christmas!
Yesterday's card is the last in this week's challenge called Wondrous Wreath. The colours used are Soft Sky, Pool Party and Lost Lagoon.
I took a strip of Whisper White and stamped 3 sections of the wreath using all three colours and then adhered it to a strip of Pool Party.
This was then adhered to the card front leaving about three quarters of an inch of Lost Lagoon visible below the band.
Using Silver Glimmer Paper, I die cut the bow from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies and the word Joy from the Wonderful Wreath Framelits Dies.
These were adhered with Tombow as shown but I felt the card looked "flat".
I thought about using Silver Stampin' Glitter, Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details, Pearls or Rhinestones Basic Jewels but they all seemed over-the-top. I decided to use Crystal Effects and I like my finished card.
A word of advice if you decide to try this. I
f you have a close look at the left hand side of the stamped strip, you'll see where three little dots of Crystal Effects have become one. Unknowingly, I'd put three dots too close together.
If you have a look at all the groups of two or more dots, you should get an idea of how close you can get with the dots before they become too close!
Well, I'd better get myself ready for the first of my two classes today, so until tomorrow, have a great weekend and happy crafting!
JanB.
Once again, Jan, really lovely what you have achieved with this wreath stamp and I do love the effect of that tiny triangles embossing folder behind it AND the tiny drops of Crystal Effects on the wreathes! Thanks for the tip about not getting them too close. It's really, really pretty ... just a super mix of colour and texture! TFS again!
ReplyDeleteHi, Geraldine. This has been quite a time-consuming challenge this week but so very satisfying! It's a great stamp set and I still have a couple more ideas. Glad you like this card. Happy crafting, JanB. ☺
