Cosy Christmas Card 4

Hello Crafters.

It wasn't until I started on card 4 yesterday that I realised I'd used the same image - the house and trees - on the first three cards! The only image I hadn't used was the bells, so an easy decision was made!

I've also used heat embossing on the first three cards and tried not to use it on the fourth card but without success. I really think this stamp set was made for heat embossing!

My challenge to myself for today's card is going to be no heat embossing! Tomorrow morning, you'll find out if I was successful!
 
I started yesterday's card by stamping several bells on scrap paper and colouring them in several different ways. My favourite was the one I'd stamped in Early Espresso Ink and coloured the bow using a gold Gelly Roll Metallic pen. Gel pens are a bit difficult to use for small areas because of the thickness of the gel. It's so easy to cover outlines unless you're ultra-careful! That made me think it might be easier if I heat embossed in Early Espresso and then used the gold gel pen. It wasn't perfect but I liked the overall effect.
 
I started my card with a base of Whisper White Card Stock, with a layer of Early Espresso and a top layer of a design from the Winter Wonderland Specialty Designer Series Paper I've been using this week.
 
I stamped two bells from Cosy Christmas using Versamark and heat embossed with Early Espresso Embossing Powder. I used the gel pen to colour the bows, the clangers and the little stud design around the bell rim. Then I fussy cut them both out.
 
I also stamped the fir and cones stamp from the Festive Fireplace Stamp Set in Versamark and sprinkled with Early Espresso Embossing Powder.

Then I very carefully used a Versamark Pen and painted a small dab inside each section of the three fir cones. Two or three times I touched the Early Espresso powder which stuck to the Versamark Pen!

I was able to get a fair few dabs in place and sprinkled with Gold Embossing Powder. Then I used my Heat Tool to heat set the powder. I was pleased with the result although I did touch up the cone on the left hand side a little bit with the gold gel pen! This image was die cut using the die from the Festive Fireside Framelits Dies

Finally I stamped the sentiment from the Cosy Christmas Stamp Set using Versamark onto a piece of Whisper White Card Stock and heat embossed with Early Espresso Embossing Powder. I coloured in the white centres of the word SEASON with the gold gel pen. 

The sentiment was die cut using the number 3 die from the Square Collections Framelits Dies. I used Tombow to adhere this to a slightly larger square cut from Gold Foil. Then I cut a larger square in Early Espresso and adhered the sentiment square to this, again using Tombow. The sentiment and the three images were all adhered to the card front using Dimensionals.

I think I had start thinking about today's project sooner rather than later if I'm going to stand a chance of completing it without using heat embossing - fingers crossed!
