I've just posted my latest video - this is the link: Snowman Scene Curvy Keepsake Box.
This is extra-special because it's my 100th video!
When I was preparing for this video I made a mistake!
I'd applied glue using my two-way glue pen and picked up the box I thought contained my Dazzling Diamonds Glitter!
Unfortunately, it was White Embossing Powder!
I heat set it as normal and on Monday I shared a photograph of it here on my blog and on my Facebook page (www.facebook.com/JanBCards).
While I just see a mistake when I look at it, my friend Lori in the US said it looks like snow!
Thanks, Lori- that's a brilliant idea!
I used this new "technique" - LOL - in yesterday's challenge card.
I've used two different methods - see which one you think looks best, or maybe you don't like either?
Feedback, as always, is very welcome.
I saw the idea for the bauble on Pinterest and thought it would be a great opportunity to try out this snow effect.
The card with the bow at the top of the thread is the first card I made, photographs 1 - 3.
I started with a base of Basic Black Card Stock.
I used two of the Sleigh Ride Edgelits to die cut a piece of Gold Foil Card Stock and a piece of Whisper White Card Stock.
I die-cut a bauble from the Delicate Ornaments Thinlits Dies using the new Black Glimmer Paper that's available in the new Christmas catalogue.
I positioned my gold die-cut on the bauble in the required position and laid the die on top. I moved the die and gold die-cut onto my Big Shot and die-cut the gold piece to fit on top of the bauble.
I did the same with the Whisper White die-cut.
I weighted it down for a few minutes and while I was waiting, applied Versamark to the snow area of the white die-cut, sprinkled with White Embossing powder and heat set it.
I used Tombow to adhere this to the gold layer.
I found this gave a much better finish as it was more uneven and therefore more realistic!
The photographs aren't brilliant but I think you can see what I mean, particularly in the last one.
Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB.
