Fluttering Butterfly

Hello, Crafters.

I've just uploaded today's video called Fluttering Butterfly.

On my original card I used a design from the Designer Series Paper Stack for the layer behind the butterfly - photograph 1.

When I looked at the finished card I thought it needed a lighter background and decided I'd use some of our beautiful lightweight Envelope Paper - photograph 2.

Although on the video it looks as if the DSP is layered onto to a Chocolate Chip circle, the brown is actually a frame around the DSP - photograph 3.

This meant the Envelope Paper would be layered directly on top of the embossed card stock.

As it is lightweight paper, I guessed that the bumps on the embossed card stock would be visible through it.

To avoid this, I layered the Envelope Paper onto another circle, the same size, of card stock.

This eliminated any worry about the embossed bumps being visible! 

In this video, I also show what a difference the Precision Base Plate makes when die-cutting intricate dies like the butterflies.

No wax paper!

No dryer sheets!

I was able to knock 99.99% of the little cut pieces out with my fingers.

I have also used the Precision Base Plate on the new bauble dies that will be available as from this coming Tuesday.

I've used them on the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and the Irresistibly Yours Designer Series Paper.

I did find that the little cut bits didn't came out quite as easily as when I used the butterflies on card stock, but I still didn't have to fight to get them out.

My verdict is that I love the Precision Base Plate and definitely recommend it.

At the end of my classes yesterday, my ladies were really excited to get their hands on the new Christmas catalogues!

We didn't use any of the new items I had bought as pre-orders during the classes but I did share my excitement about the new products with them.

Very soon, I'll be offering paper shares and ribbon shares from the new catalogue. (Stampin' Up! rules only allow me to sell/recruit in our European market: UK, Netherlands, France, Germany and Austria. I'm sorry!). More about that later! In the meantime, enjoy the weekend and happy crafting.
