Sincerely Santa Project Kit - Tags 4 & 5

Hello, Crafters.

As I'm writing today's blog, I'm wondering if you'll be

reading it via Blogger or via WordPress - hopefully

 it'll be the latter!

This is the fourth tag in the Sincerely Santa Project Kit, and

I do love the bells. As with the other tags, the only part I've

changed is the ribbon. On this tag it means I've used a fair

bit less for each tag, because the instructions are to

fold the ribbon to zig zag three times. I've added the gold

stars as extras because I had so many left over.
The instructions on how to tie the bells so they stay put

are included on the instruction sheet, and they work

brilliantly! I have also adhered the silver snowflakes onto my

tag further in than they are shown on the leaflet. I did this

to make sure they don't get damaged by sticking out too far.
Then there is the fifth and final tag. I particularly enjoyed

putting this design together because I couldn't see how

it was going to work! It has a piece of ribbon wrapped all

round the tag but still has the white cord going through

the hole. I started this tag by stamping the sentiment, and

adhering it to the Gold Foil oblong and  then the doily.
I followed the instructions and cut an 8" piece of ribbon.

Before I started to adhere it, I put the white cord through

the hole and tied the two ends together. Back to the green

ribbon! I put some SNAIL on the top, the bottom and in

the middle**. I adhered one end half way up the front of

the tag, followed down and up around the back

 in a straight line.
When I reached the white cord I put the ribbon through it.

**It's important that you don't put any SNAIL to the ribbon

where it goes up and over the hole! The two ends of the

ribbon should meet, and will be covered by the sentiment.

Next I took a 10" piece of green ribbon - as per the

instructions - and tied it in a bow.
I didn't find the instructions at this stage very helpful as it

just says "tie in bow" with a no. 4 on the diagram which

means to adhere with Tombow! I decided to tie the bow

around the vertical ribbon I had wrapped around the tag. I

didn't feel that it needed to be adhered with Tombow, so I

added a Glue Dot underneath each wing of the bow.
On my blog on Thursday, I forgot to say I also added

some gold stars to tag number 5..........as you can see! My

conclusion on this Project Kit is that it's fabulous, and I'd love

to run a product-based class using it. If you're sitting on the

fence about buying it, go for it. I'm sure you'll love it.
I'm very hopeful that I'll be writing Sunday's video blog on

Wordpress! I've already had some practice goes on writing

posts so I'm learning something each time. Hopefully, by

the time you read my first blog written on WordPress, I'll

appear to be a pro! Here's hoping!

In the meantime I hope you have a fabulous weekend,

 and until tomorrow, happy crafting.

Sincerely Santa Project Kit - Tag 3

Hello, Crafters.

Nearly there! WordPress, we're on our way!!
Today's tag is the third tag in the Sincerely Santa Project

Kit. When I first started putting this one together, I did

think the shape should be the other way up, like a drop

of water. By the time I'd completed the first tag in this

group, it looked so right being this way up!

The only part I changed on this tag, is the same as on

tag 2, and that's the ribbon. The instructions said to use

two pieces 8" long, layered, and I didn't understand what

that meant. I think it should have been "two pieces 4" long,

which should be adhered side by side across the

width of the tag, and then fishtailed.
This would have been achieved by cutting each ribbon in

from the outside, towards the centre i.e one piece cut

from the top diagonally down towards the left, and the

other piece cut from the bottom diagonally up

towards the left.
For my tags I took a piece of ribbon that was 6" long,

and then used Glue Dots as previously to fold the ends

over and under, and adhered down with Glue Dots. Had I

known how much green ribbon would have been left

over, I would have done two strips!
This is what I was left with by the time I had finished

putting all thirty tags together! I decided to use the remaining

gold stars on tag number 4, which I'll share with you

tomorrow. It's very re-assuring to know that the amount

of goodies in the kit are more than enough to complete

 the project very comfortably.

That's it from me today, so until tomorrow, happy crafting.

Sincerely Santa Project Kit - Tag 2

Hello, Crafters.

I am sooo, sooo excited! My beautifully revamped blog will

be live any day now - probably at the weekend! Yesterday

I was working on getting my blogs scheduled through to

Saturday which will make life easier for my IT guru when

it comes to the actual move from Blogger to WordPress.
The moment you see the new blog, you'll know you have

arrived - it's gorgeous! All I need you to do for me is to

re-subscribe when you are on Wordpress, and you will go

back to receiving an email EVERY time I post a new blog!

It's highly unlikely that there'll be any hiccups with the

transition but if there are, please bear with us!

Today I'm sharing the second tag I made from the Sincerely

Santa Project Kit. As I said at the beginning of assembling

these tags, I'm going to do my best to stick to the

kit, and I have been good................well, pretty good! ☺

The change I made on this tag is the ribbon. The

instructions say to use 2.25" of ribbon and fishtail the ends.

I wasn't happy with that in case the ends frayed. I could

have singed the ends of the ribbons, but I didn't want to

run the risk of starting a fire in my studio! I came up with

a simple solution instead! The down side is that I used 4"

per tag which left me short for the other tag that needed

red ribbon, but I was able to find a work around,

so it wasn't a problem!

I used a Glue Dot at each end of my Real Red Ribbon, and

with the aid of my tweezers I folded back 5/8" each end so

they were held in place by the Glue Dot. Then I carried on

with the instructions that came with the kit. I knew there

are more gold self-adhesive stars in the kit than are needed,

so I used two for the top of my Christmas tree instead of one!

I adhered a smaller star on top of a larger one and adhered

them on the top of the tree. The photograph on the leaflet

makes the star look as if it's covering the hole where the

cord goes, and I was concerned that, as the cord moved,

it may damage the star. To make sure this didn't happen, I

adhered my double star a bit lower so the cord didn't rub

and cause any damage the star.

When I had finished the first tag, I did say I thought that

one would be my favourite but the jury was out. I'm not

sure that's going to be the case now! I would have said that

the Christmas Tree tag was the least attractive, but having

now seen it and made six of them, it's so much nicer in real

life! Tomorrow I'll be back with the third tag! In the

meantime, happy crafting.
